You won’t believe the magnificent setting of this beach home until you see it in person. When the Colombia River Gorge oozed with lava millions of years ago, the flow stopped just a few hundred yards south of the property. Enormous basalt rock formations were created on the ocean floor resulting in spectacular views from nearly every room in the home. The property is located directly above a small cove and private beach protected by the rocks. A visiting geologist said he would be happy to provide a written report, but added this is one of the best protected homes he’s ever seen on the Oregon coast. A short walk down stairs to the private beach will reveal the fortunate natural protection the rocks provide. The current owners extensively remodeled an already well-built house shortly after they purchased the home a few years ago. The wood stairs and flooring throughout the upper floor is new, solid oak that was finished on site. All the bathrooms were demolished and new showers, doors, vanities, toilets, light fixtures and mirrors were installed. All interior doors, baseboards and trim were also replaced. Extensive low-voltage art lighting was installed with dimmers. In addition, all the hanging light fixtures were replaced and new Hunter Douglas window coverings were installed. The upper cedar deck and west-side patio were replaced, expanded and 52” glass windscreens were installed. New roofing was installed and the contractor commented he rarely sees ¾” plywood under a roof. It was a very well-built home from the get go and features a very livable floorplan. The home lives larger than its 2400 square feet would suggest, with open space living areas and more than ample bedrooms on both floors. The primary bedroom suite including adjacent bathroom and walk-in closet provides a great refuge for the owners. The home is located on nearly one acre of oceanfront land on a private street. One of the owners is a licensed real estate agent in the State of Arizona.
