Owner's Experience: It is hard to put to words the shared joys and restorative energy that our Riverhouse has provided us over the past 20 years. Our children were 4 and 6 when we acquired the house, and while a “2nd home” on paper, our experiences and memories there are just as vivid and adored. Frequently when we would arrive to the house, we had barely put the car in park before the kids were bounding out their doors, racing straight to the back and jumping in the River. Most days were spent in the River, with a popular means of entry plunging off the dock. The early days sported games tossing the kids into the water, and while the launching diminished as all of us aged, the memories and smiles remain. We enjoyed boats of varying shapes, sizes, and speeds, swapping them for noodles or tubes for “float therapy”. After long days in the River, the nights were frequently spent directly above it, on the spacious patio and deck, with firepits, marshmallow roasts, and s’mores for everyone to enjoy. The 5-minute drive to the Shenandoah River Estates community over “the cattle-road” (Mary’s Shady Lane) provides the perfect transition from hustle & bustle to the state of bliss and relaxation that the River offers. Feel the stress melt-away as you enjoy mountain views on all 4 sides, and your mindset shifts from civilization to wilderness, and focusing on what’s important to you — including you. And while Summer is “peak-season,” the home provides year-round respite. As the colors change throughout the year, the views continue to impress and to calm.
